It came from the DIA, with alterations by FOXHOUND's medical chief. I had an informant, although I was never quite too sure on the specifics.

It's a stretch, but I wonder if they got the idea from how Skull Face used Code Talker's research. The basis of a plan.

Depends on who Huey Emmerich told, I guess.

It makes sense. I don't claim to understand the way things fit together, but it sounds reasonable enough.

Everyone he could talk to, I'm sure. He was rather unpleasant, wasn't he?

He didn't start out that unpleasant. Just mundane.

Dr. Strangelove was a different story. We weren't great friends, but I liked her. How much do you know about her?

Hm. Can't say I'm an expert on her, although I did hear a bit back on Mother Base.

She was cool, confident. Very much suffering the loss of someone she loved. Something I understood even at the time, more so later. We had the same taste in women. Not in men, obviously, but she had a good eye. She was smart.

She suffocated to death breathing the name of the person she loved.

[That was almost Kaz, handcuffed and dwindling, breathing "boss" over and over.]

Huey Emmerich had a great woman that made the mistake of giving him a chance. Probably the only man who would have had one, and he ended up being the death of her.

Bloody hell, though, what a thing to deal with.

While I tried to find out what I could about what was going on back then, even with Tretij I couldn't be everywhere at once. We really only found him useful for fixing Metal Gear Sahelanthropus, anyway.

To be honest, I should have had him killed before that.

[Because he knows Venom wouldn't have let him.]

But I suppose hindsight is 20/20, and it would have upset the boss.

[Fuck that guy, though. It would have made Kaz feel a hell of a lot better.] I'm not sure it would have helped me in the long run. Killing skull face didn't.

But, yes, I understand that it might not have been the best idea at the time. I know I've missed out on some things that I really wish I hadn't.

You know, I worked with the man's son for a bit. [As much as you can call that 'working with,' but details, details.] He was far more pleasant.

I heard that he turned out to be a better man than his father. I'm glad of it.

Huey Emmerich deserved to have a son that was better than him in every way, after he tried to use him for a lab rat.

Yes, I'd say that sounds about right. I was a bit too busy to have too many conversations with him, [beyond something like 'get back to work'] but he seemed like a good person.

I believe my brother is more familiar with him.
