Was Father surprised by the change in scenery?

Probably. But he didn't seem surprised by me.

He and Venom Snake are posing as brothers as well. Ishmael and Ahab. Do me a favor and play along with it. It'll cause a lot less grief on everyone's parts, I think. Our lives are complicated enough.

Probably makes Ahab the strange uncle, huh?

At this point, I seem to have far too many strange uncles.

It's Mantis. It's nice to have him back.

He came back, then.

[He remembers when Liquid came to him after the first time he left. He doesn't know that there's a drastic age difference that occurred.]

[He doesn't mention the fact that he's older now, since he's always expected him to be the age he was when he last remembered him before anyway.]

It's a relief. I missed him. And I don't care how bloody sentimental that sounds.

Even Ocelot can miss people.

You mean 'even Ocelot can miss my father' or something like that, right?

Still, it's a nice feeling. It's a bit like the last time we reunited, before all this.

I think he has some other issues about things he missed, too.

[At some point on the Moira Miller found some concern about Ocelot, though with his return it's quickly evaporating.]

Oh, he's got plenty of issues, I'm sure.

[Liquid... is not a big fan of Ocelot, to say the least, even though he kiiind of got along with the old one.]

I told your father about the virus, by the way. Just to avoid another flare-up or mutation.

Where did it originally come from, by the way? I know FOXHOUND was involved somehow, but that's it.

How did he take it?

It came from the DIA, with alterations by FOXHOUND's medical chief. I had an informant, although I was never quite too sure on the specifics.

It's a stretch, but I wonder if they got the idea from how Skull Face used Code Talker's research. The basis of a plan.

Depends on who Huey Emmerich told, I guess.

It makes sense. I don't claim to understand the way things fit together, but it sounds reasonable enough.

Everyone he could talk to, I'm sure. He was rather unpleasant, wasn't he?

He didn't start out that unpleasant. Just mundane.

Dr. Strangelove was a different story. We weren't great friends, but I liked her. How much do you know about her?

Hm. Can't say I'm an expert on her, although I did hear a bit back on Mother Base.

She was cool, confident. Very much suffering the loss of someone she loved. Something I understood even at the time, more so later. We had the same taste in women. Not in men, obviously, but she had a good eye. She was smart.

She suffocated to death breathing the name of the person she loved.

[That was almost Kaz, handcuffed and dwindling, breathing "boss" over and over.]

Huey Emmerich had a great woman that made the mistake of giving him a chance. Probably the only man who would have had one, and he ended up being the death of her.
